Acupuncture is treatment with acupuncture needles based on Western or Chinese medicine. The needles used are thin, sterile disposable needles packed in protective gas.
Acupuncture is typically used to facilitate e.g. the following ailments: headaches, migraines, shoulder and back pain, tennis elbow, lumbaco, i.e. witch's arrow, pains due to arthrosis and pains in the Achilles tendon region.
Acupuncture needles can be used safely on almost the entire body. The stimulus caused by the needle is thought to accelerate e.g. endorphin production in the body and thus pain can be alleviated.
